Over The Hills & A Blue Lake
£6.00
Far-reaching coastal views are among the highlights of this walk over the hills from Llwyngwril back to Barmouth, as well as the Blue Lake hidden in an abandoned slate quarry above Fairbourne. From the station at Llwyngwril the route will follow the Welsh Coast Path to begin with. It then ascends for the first mile and turns into a wide open path. On the way down there will be a visit to the Blue Lake. While the entrance tunnel is now closed to visitors, it is fascinating gem and a lovely stop for lunch. The descent from the hills is steep in places and can be muddy after rain. Barmouth Bridge is crossed on the return to the town. Public Transport - Train at 10.59am from Barmouth to Llwyngwril arriving a 11.17am.
