Created to celebrate the life of Peter Gurr, one of the founders of the Barmouth Walking Festival in 2001, this is a superb mid-level undulating, linear walk above the Mawddach Estuary from the village of Llanelltyd near Dolgellau. The route climbs steadily and then levels on the New Precipice Walk below Foel Ispri which was created to rival Dolgellau's famous Precipice Walk. It then passes many remains of the Welsh gold mining industry in the hills and woods above Bontddu. Towards the end, a dramatic descent into Barmouth takes in the Panorama Walk and passes Dinas Oleu hillside, the first land donated to the National Trust. The walks begins by taking a bus from Barmouth alighting at Llanelltyd opposite the school (LL40 2TA). Public Transport - Bus at 8.33am from Barmouth to Llanelltyd.
