Dolgellau to Barmouth below Cadair Ridge
£7.00
One of the popular, favourite curtain-raisers of the festival is this lovely, undulating walk running at mid-level with the beautiful Mawddach Estuary to the right and the dramatic Cadair Idris ridge to the left. It starts from Eldon Square in Dolgellau with a straightforward, quiet road ascent almost to the day's highest point of 787 feet (240m.) It then continues in passing King's Youth Hostel and the delightful Llynnau Cregennan (Cregennan Lakes) before descending to and crossing Barmouth Bridge with great views of the estuary and the town. There are toilets at Dolgellau and at Morfa Mawddach near to the bridge. Any dogs should be on a lead. Public Transport - T3 bus from Jubilee Road, Barmouth at 09:32am arriving at Eldon Square, Dolgellau at 9:57am
