This classic circular walk from the the village of Croesor takes in the summits of Cnicht (2,260 feet, 689m), which is often described as the Welsh Matterhorn, Moelwyn Mawr (2,362ft, 720m) and its sister peak Moelwyn Bach (2,329ft, 710m). There are fantastic views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in every direction and a visit along the way to the Rhosdydd slate quarry with its atmospheric abandoned mill buildings and barracks. The route is moderately difficult with two short exposed sections of minor scrambling. The start point is the Croesor free car park, postcode LL48 6SR.
