NEW Choo-Choos and Three Lakes

A new undulating, circular walk through parts of delightful Plas Tan-y-Bwlch Estate woods and forestry which begins from parking by the Oakeley Arms Hotel near Maentwrog. There are views of Porthmadog, Penrhyndeudraeth to the south and the Moelwyn peaks to the north. The famous Ffestiniog Railway runs through the woods and the extended route for this year will also pass by three lakes. There are downhill and uphill sections to negotiate carefully and there are some exposed roots to look out for in the woods. Due to its length, it will be enjoyed by experienced walkers used to tricky terrain.
