This varied new walk from Porthmadog Station car park takes in a steep ascent and descent and some very easy scrambling rewarded by amazing views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the Llyn Peninsula as well as a picturesque cove or two. All this is achieved in the space of five miles out of the town by ascending Moel-y-Gest, the prominent hill next door. The ascent to the top and the subsequent descent makes this shorter walk a B-grade. Public Transport - The 8.33am G23 bus from Barmouth arriving at 9.26m at Porthmadog railway station. There is an hourly return service as well as a train option. Drivers can park at Porthmadog railway station.
